In 2011, the Beaulieu Road Sales Yard was further improved through the provision of a range of new facilities including mains water, mains electricity, lighting, toilets and hand-washing facilities and a wash-down area for lorries and trailers. This not only brought the yard up to the latest health and safety regulations but also provide improved facilities for buyers, sellers and visitors to the sales yard.
As well as using some of the NF Livestock Society’s own funds, the new facilities have been funded by:
• The New Forest Higher Level Stewardship Scheme (through the Verderers Grazing Scheme)
• The New Forest National Park Authority and the Sustainable Development Fund
• The New Forest Trust
• The Commoners Defence Association
• The New Forest Pony and Cattle Breeders Society
Contributions were also received from various properties close to the sale yard site.
The New Forest Livestock Society would like to thank all those concerned in the project for their help and support in getting these new facilities installed. It has been a long and frustrating process at times!
